At first I expected all the stories to be fetish shit but apparently that's relegated to another general. https://ponepaste.org/1590 A lot of them follow the formula of: (You) rescue pony from abuse, (You) rehabilitate pony from trauma + side drama, (You) and pony fall in love through some mixture of the Nightingale/Reverse Nightingale Syndrome. The simple savior complex plotline is like junkfood to me but I remember a few greens actually exploring that formula in a mature/realistic way. The greens I liked the most were the dark ones without much or any romance, though. The first one I'd recommend follows the basic formula that started the general pretty well: https://ponepaste.org/1876 (the ending for this one makes me want to kick the writer in the nuts) There's another one that's ongoing about Mayor Mare getting captured by tribal humans and going from farm animal status to something like the war advisor to the chief: https://ponepaste.org/5389 (there's 2 other parts) As weird as it sounds the generational traumas and weird mindsets that come from ponies being a caste of sex slaves are really interesting to read about. Even some of the more smutty greens like to explore that, strangely. The fetish stuff goes in /sim/ I think, submission is mandatory or whatever, but I don't read that stuff. It's usually pretty cringe-y at best. I've only read a couple of /spg/ stories that were good, most that I read are either weird as hell or just not very well written, some are just the ever tiresome unfinished. The Buying a bookhorse story and the Fire and Sky series both by Lurkernon are probably the only /spg/ things I really liked enough to remember.
