The State of This Site Anonymous 08/28/2022 (Sun) 23:17:31 Id:3ec90a No. 450
I hate that I even have to be making a thread like this, but things have been building up, and it's time to have a discussion. I'm feeling very frustrated. I love this place and have been around since the beginning, and have put in a lot of hours and some of my own money trying to help it grow, but I'm quickly losing faith in the future of this site based on the way things are going. First of all, why are blatant troll, schizo and other similar posts designed solely to disrupt and make people mad being left alone? There's been several cases of this in threads now where someone's clearly just trying to stir shit up, leaving a perfectly good thread derailed in the wake. But nothing happens, it's just left there for months, potentially stifling further future growth of that thread. Second, and on a much more serious note, now this sites on the radar of actual, unironic CP bots, and that shit is getting left up for hours. As an artist, I've wanted to help bringing attention to this site through pony art that gets sourced back to here, but now I can't do that anymore. I don't want my name to be associated with somewhere that has a very real possibility of someone clicking a link, only to have some kid getting dicked be the first thing they see. What's the plan of action here? How can these problems be addressed? I really hate this timeline. These last couple of years have really felt like the old fandom surrounding pony is withering away rapidly. G5 is a flop, /mlp/ is as much of a dumpster fire as its ever been, and alternative places to discuss anything related are drying up. >Fansites are dead >Forums are dead >Imageboards are dying What's left, really? Reddit? Discord? It's a bleak outlook. All I want is a place to post and discuss cute poners in peace without all the cancer that has infested the present day internet.
Ignore bait. Disregard spam. Really, this shit has been going on since the Golden Age of 4chan. It ain't no thing.
>>450 I think things are exaggerated a fair bit here. While we do have bots from time to time, we take appropriate action against them and will continue to do so. Thread derailment is a pretty rare occurrence around here. It has happened, and we have cleaned it up before. Should Anons be unhappy about the resolution of things, I would hope they would come to /qa/ so we can discuss what would have been a better outcome. And if you see something against the rules, report it, and a staff member will review it. If you have examples feel free to link them here or directly report them.
>>452 I thought this was a troll thread at first.
Honestly /mlp/ has the same problem. The difference here is that there's less staff to delete threads 24/7. this month alone, actual genital gore was posted on there and it was up for at least 15 minutes.
