Derpy is a very underappreciated pony

>>12950 Well, Derpy Hooves is smarter than she looks, and old granny Ditzy told her never to put all her muffins in one basket. She has the area of the muffins divided amongst four cylindrical silos. A quarter of an acre is 10,890 square hooves and there are four silos so each silo has an area of 2,722 and 1/2 square hooves. The area of a circle is 𝝅r^2 so therefore the diameter of a circle is (√a/𝝅)*2. This gets us a diameter of approximately 58 and 7/8 hooves for each silo. A fathom is 6 hooves, so the total volume of muffins Derpy can store is 653,400 cubic hooves. The muffins are processed with a petrification spell and placed on a conveyor by high level unicorns, and the silos have all of the air sucked out to prevent oxidization. A conveyor runs along the tops of the silos to drop the muffins in, and a chain with scoops on it lifts the muffins back out to put them back on the conveyor. Each silo can operate independent of the others. For security, the vault is buried deep in a mountain and requires passage through 5 doors plus the correct password input (See video). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWEvp217Tzw Also if her majesty catches you using the fagtric system instead of muffin units you are going to the dungeon.

>>12962 A brilliant system of security and muffin management to be sure! And I would never presume to offend Her Majesty by using the wretched fagtric system! Everyone knows that it is based on irrationality, whereas muffin units are based on science. Besides, I do not want to end up banished and locked in a dungeon in the place I was banished to! Now, let's model a muffin as a cube. If it is 0.20 hooves on a side, each muffin will occupy a volume of 0.008 hooves^3. That means Our Muffin Empress's silos can hold 653,400/0.008 = 81,675,000 Muffins! That is greater muffin wealth than anypony in Equestria history! Of course, that also assumes the preservation spell also facilitates efficient packing and prevents smooshing of muffins on the bottom by the accumulated weight of those at the top. Do you suppose Her Majesty keeps these muffins as a sort of reserve currency to help Equestria in times of need or in times of muffin deficits? She is supremely magnanimous after all.
>>12944 I imagine it would look something like the US cheese vaults: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miFTqY9Y5rU
>>12984 Yes, I would envision something like that just on a grander scale. Even the US government should not be permitted to surpass the muffin vault in size, quantity, or sophistication.
>>12989 >sophistication If she has four silos, then she can have four kinds of muffin. What kinds of muffins are her favorites? >>12981 Modeling a muffin as a cube would account for air space gaps between muffins, and petrified muffins do not deform, so assuming the muffin size is correct the estimate is valid with I'd say an error range of 10 million muffins to be safe. (although it is noteworthy that muffins could be made in different sizes for different purposes, most likely sorted by silo) She is the Empress of Muffins indeed! >She is supremely magnanimous after all. Of course! Whenever there is a natural or un-natural disaster and ponies are hungry, she has the muffin reserves ready to be distributed to those in need. Her pragmatism is an inspiration to us all.
But why does she like the muffins?
>>13039 Probably because muffins are just about the pinnacle of baked goods. They can be made in a multitude of delicious flavors (blueberry, banana, cranberry, corn, etc.), they are highly transportable, long lasting, are packable and stackable, make great impromptu gifts, and bring warmth and gladness to the heart. In Equestria, they could also be infused with all manner of magical and healing properties. No other baked good can approach their simultaneous delightfulness and utility. Perhaps a better question would be why wouldn't Derpy like muffins. >>12991 >it is noteworthy that muffins could be made in different sizes for different purposes, most likely sorted by silo) Would Muffin Empress Derpy use different silos for different flavors of muffins as well, or would she uniformly distribute them as a 'not all eggs in one basket' strategy? Pic related: My favorite portrait of her Highness. May we all be worthy of her grace.

Let it be known that Dr. Richard Feynman and Derpy Hooves spend many hours together working out the fine details of quantum mechanics
