There's no denying that this thread has much less posters than the one on /mlp/, either because they didn't find us, or because they don't want to post here for whatever reason, but, at the risk of ruining the magic, I think activity on 4chan was overrated.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we were botted or something, certainly not our thread, but when you have a relatively slow thread and you're forced to bump it every few hours if you don't want it deleted, activity isn't merely organic anymore, it becomes kind of the result of a threat.
I know it's a weird complaint, literally all social networks are based on this idea of keeping you permanently hooked, permanently posting, permanently looking for updates, and if they do it it's because people want it, otherwise nobody would use them. Plus, I admit it does have its perks, if you bump with something that someone else finds interesting a new discussion can arise from it, so "fake" activity
can create real activity. But at the end of the day it was still forced, and after a few days of forgetting about looking at what page we're on, I don't miss it one bit.
Sure, I am posting less too, but I can't help but think that at least I'm posting what I want to post, not what I'm forced to out of this self-imposed obligation.
