/Bale/ Beginner And Low Effort art thread - #63 Anonymous 04/15/2025 (Tue) 20:48:29 No. 20116
Welcome friends, ITT: We make and share pony art, with absolutely no pressure to deliver anything that's technically good (besides having ponies in it, which makes it good by default) Make something, share what you've done, and give feedback and motivation to help us all keep improving and creating! This thread's focus is art, but beginner or low effort content of any kind is welcome here. If you do want to post about something else like music, gamedev, or crafts, though, just note that you may find better help and feedback posting it in the T:EM/P/O thread Are you an experienced artist? Leave some tips, feedback, guides, or tutorials, they're well appreciated here! Guides, tutorials and resources! Start here! https://mares.horse/bale https://ponepaste.org/8268 Draw with other /bale/ anons! https://magma.com/invite/DXPPI_ZG /bale/ videos: https://pony.tube/c/bale_stuff/videos T:EM/P/O thread (for bigger art projects and all other types of content):>>216 Previous /bale/ thread: >>/mlp/42102724
Not the origianl OP. But I decided to make a bootleg thread for the time being in case /mlp/ takes more than a day to come back
>>20133 Based I was on the fence about doing it, but glad there's a backup

I was going to hang this on the fridge but apparently someone burned our horse house down
>>20170 Needs more butt (to balance head)
Where's the anon that did Pen2Pone........... I'm ready for my next mission
>>20317 I'm here, I guess this is technically a new thread so I'll work on the pen part.

>>20133 I hope the rest of /bale/ knows about nhnb. It'd be a shame to lose so many posters if 4chan is down for a more extended period, which given the xitter post seems they're implying is likely.
>>20336 >Just I've heard between days months and years
>>20343 Years sounds unlikely. Days definitely. Months... perhaps. RIP to the sunburst+anoncolt green rgre had going on. It was enjoyable.

>>20336 Not like we could really tell them now, best thing I think could be done is adding a link to the op to a thread on here. >T.lunanon
we retvrn
Fuck. Now there's a bale thread on mlpol too
>>20410 redundancy is a good thing in these unstable times
2 /bale/ threads to keep track of. This, and the thread on mlpol. I guess the first /mlp/ thread brought over to any other site will always be /bale/
>>20413 2cakes.png Content creation is great and I'm glad anon's first instinct is to make a place for it
>>20421 hell yeah brother same
>This thread's OP was copypasted from /mlp/ >/mlpol/ has a new OP pic Looks like mlpol is more /bale/ than nhnb

>>20431 I'm sorry anon, I'm not an artist in the sense that I haven't picked up a pencil in 10 years. And I thought that, if I didn't make the thread, then no one else would've, bystander effect and all. I guess this should serve as a wake up call for me to start, huh?
>>20440 cute sea swirl
Thanks for making this!!
>>20441 nta but I think there's pros and cons for using the same thumbnail. On one hand, it's not creative to reuse the same image. One the other, using the previous image helps anons to recognize the familiarity of the previous /mlp/ thread
(3.39 MB 3508x4960 bugbadge.png)
drew badge art for someone who forgot to do theirs, hope it's not poor form to post on both /bale/ threads
>>20440 love to see it
>>20463 came out nice and nah your all good and tbh it's probably a good idea with the general chaos of thing

For this time in need
>>20493 thats a super cute twiggles
>>20358 I guess you could poke the ones who post to derpi or poner or wherever else they upload and tell them where the emergency threads are, but beyond that, yeah
(2.19 MB 4001x4096 see…SWIRL.png)
i dont know if i like my art anymore
>>20440 >>20586 I like it, maybe experiment with making the muzzles slightly bigger. >>20493 Cutie Sparkle
>>20586 why is that? you draw very good and a lot of people find your art highly appealing. certainly more appealing than my art.
(2.60 MB 2098x1332 sugar dick.png)
>>20586 >>20590 and for the love of god add nostrils more to the point, you lean heavy on cutesy minimalism - which to some degree is needed for ponies - but you'd probably benefit a lot if you take some lessons from more realistic artists with a developed 3D style, e.g. pic related, dimfann, dosh, silfoe, and so on. I'm thinking artists who consider the pony face as a skull with eyeballs, more than a big flat eye painted onto a flat face.
>>20586 It’s gorgeous bro don’t worry.
ofc there ARE plenty of amazing artists that don't do this, I'm just pointing these out as a contrast to your current style, to be clear. Like the others are saying it's objectively good. but to me personally it doesn't have the spice, and I think that's because the 3D form doesn't really come together
>>20317 >>20328 In order to keep things from being too fast and too slow, how about two P2Ps a month, on or around the 1st and 15th? Welcome to the Pen2Pone game, where a written description (the pen) is taken by (You) (the 2) and is crafted into a pony, (the pone). You've got all thread to draw your own take, so don't feel rushed. You'll probably forget at some point. Let your imagination gallop free and try to draw what (You) envision. Think outside the box everyone else is in, think outside the box you're in. Or maybe think inside the box you want to be in. You draw the version of the character you see in your head, nothing anyone else posts should tell you your interpretation is bad. I have no clue what I'm doing so I cant say there are any real rules other than to have fun and be creative, so without further ado, lets go! >The first line wiggles, the next line grooves >This mare makes a dance with the moves of her hooves >So gather around, prepare for a show >This weekend only, then she's back on the go
>>20586 If you feel you might be at a point of not really liking what your doing it might be really good to just try something significantly different to your usual solution set. Seems like most usually set out on linearly improving their ability, refining their solution set; could be really useful to get out of that solution set by just looking at things others have done, and taking certain aspects of them and then just making something, or just outright snatching their solution (or as some may call their 'style') and mix and match certain things, or a bunch of different ones to make something you may not even consider to be something within your skill set, when it actually is by just trying something vastly new.
lil pre bed boop for good measure

>>21537 Based, thank you nurse redheart
people seem to slowly be piling into the thread over at /mlpol/ I'm not sure if the trend will continue but just in case anyone is interested who may still be trickling in the thread is here https://mlpol.net/poner/93. I'm not too picky about posting on either board but I will be posting where the people are the most active, and I expect most people are going to do the same. I will make sure this thread is up though as an alternative though, or if there's a sudden spike in traffic here.
